EDGEWATER HOLDS RECORD

API-8/27/02 - It's official - Edgewater holds the record in Bergen County for most geese on public lands!
Officials last weekend counted 167 geese in Veteran's Field alone. They also noted that the walkway leading into the Community Center was "loaded" with geese droppings not to mention the "hundreds" of pounds of geese poop that is in the field itself.
Boro officials were contacted but had no comment. In fact, the Mayor and Council has had no recent conversations on what to do with this growing problem. They seem to have no problem with the fact that you NEVER see kids running through the grass or flying kites for the past 5 years! An occasional touch football game or soccer game by out-of-town boys is the only action that field EVER sees.
Officials report they have no way of knowing if any children have been made sick to date because of this condition but feel confident that no child is likely to get sick in the future because NO ONE USES THE FIELD ANYMORE.
Harvey, Val'sGal, Mary, Juanita, Nancy, Bryan, Lame duck Louis....feel free to do something about it! Let's straighten out this park before we buy another!
