Sorry you feel that way, but anyone CAN discuss all facets of life in Edgewater, from the upcoming election to the "nitty-gritty" things, and no one is stopping you from doing so. There is no selective censorship: 2 posts have been removed, one of which used profanity and one of which was posted by a candidate and deemed to be political advertising. It is to disseminate misinformation, however, to state that a candidate posted their profile in response to the demand of other posters: first, there have been no such demands, and second, since the post was removed, you have no way of knowing the content unless you are the person who posted or affiliated with the candidate who posted. Edgewater Online is meant to be an informative resource, but you must realize that it is a commercial site on which people pay to advertise. If as a software engineer you were a paying advertiser under the category "Computer Software", we're sure you would not be pleased to see a bunch of your competitors placing postings on these boards which were the equivalent of free advertising for them. Political candidates place campaign ads in the Edgewater Residential. This site is no different when it comes to political advertising. Candidates also submit letters to the editor in the hope of getting publicity and calling attention to their campaigns--such letters are not all printed, however. The Staff at Edgewater Online
