I knew it! A claim for success for the Ferry project coming from the coalition. What took so long? For the record, Valory stood against this project from the get-go. Don't rewrite history. Beside Valory's NO NO NO votes, were Denis and Mary's NO NO NO votes. Their NO votes resonated in unison for 4 years. No ferry - no where - no way. The filabustering was constant. First they claimed the democrats were ramrodding the project through and then they claimed it was taking too long. They lied to the public by claiming this site was going to be a giant parking lot for thousands of cars and lied to the public claiming the project would never be finished. They even sent out a campaign picture with a withering, decrepit, empty marina. And Valory, their leader, kept silent during the last campaign - even though she knew how close the project was to the start of construction. And, yes, candidate Bardinas is on the mayor's liaison committee now - as of January 2006 - long after the planning was completed, government approvals and grants obtained and the actual construction started. It was just a matter of time for you and your group to lay claim to this most major project undertaken by Edgewater and led by the democrats. If it were up to your group, with Mary Hogan in the forefront pleading with the County NOT to give the $2,000,000 in grants for the project, we, the taxpayers would be bearing the brunt of the cost of buying and revamping the marina and there would be no ferry service. The voters of Edgewater will not be fooled again by you.

I am passionate about this project and watching out my window, I see the huge amount of progress on a daily basis. At the end of the day, at the end of all the campaigns, ferry service will be the norm in Edgewater, the park and walkway will be used by many people, and the marina will have been preserved.
