[Schools/Education] Pre-kindergarten

My child was rejected from EVG's pre-k because her birthday falls a few days after the October 1 cutoff date. Everyone who meets her says she is exceedingly advanced, so I don't feel that she should have to wait an entire year to enter pre-k just because of a few days' difference. Does anyone know if there is a way to appeal this? Aside from sending her to private school, can anyone offer any other alternatives? Thanks in advance.
