In Response To: [Politics/Elections] Setting the record straight (Beatrice M. Robbio)
Beatrice, you just said "Let's be clear: The local Democrats have and had the vote to do, not do, or in many cases undo what has happened in Edgewater. That includes traffic, pollution, overdevelopment, lack of affordable commuting options, raising taxes, non-sheltering bus shelters, diminished parking for residents, uncontrolled mudslides in Shadyside, dirt piles, COAH non-compliance, Police Station in shambles, skyrocketing taxpayer costs for Marina, Park, and Ferry, no sidewalks for seniors by the Waterford, toxic sites left to seep for decades, pay-to-play politics, increased town debt to over $27MM... and that is just to name a few."
Are you kidding? Look around you. Edgewater happens to be a beautiful place to live and a thriving community. With that said, no place is perfect. I'm not going to dispute your every point. It isn't necessary. However, just to ask you about a few things you mentioned:
...I know that the bus shelters are a big issue for you. Dennis was assigned the task of investigating alternatives (even though Valerie voted for the existing ones). I haven't heard a peep from him or you about what he's found.
...Police station in shambles: Everyone knows that a new Police Station is being planned to be placed on the old Unilever property. Doing so will save this town millions of dollars. What's your problem?
...Enough with the dirt piles?? Don't you have anything better to talk about?
Beatrice, you need to start offering constructive, positive ideas. You are really quite boring with the same old diatribe. You have never suggested any solutions for anything! What's clear to me is that you and Bruce have nothing to offer except to rant and rave.
