In Response To: Anyone? (George)
Actually, George, I just decided to support the Democratic candidates relatively recently. Is it so difficult for you Coalition supporters to accept the reality of the situation: that the candidates whom you so vehemently oppose also have their own supporters, supporters with equally-reasoned beliefs and opinions as you and your comrades? Surely you are not so narrow-minded as to believe that your way is the only way, the right way, and that the opinions of anyone who disagrees with you or your position (e.g., that the Coalition candidates should be elected come November 2) are devoid of merit. If you will read my earlier posts--and I assume that you have in order for you to draw the conclusion that I am the same individual as another contributor to this board--you will see that I reached the decision to vote for the Democratic candidates after researching the matter. I am not a "supporter" in the sense of one who works for a campaign, i.e., distributing literature, making telephone calls, making monetary campaign contributions--even posting propaganda messages on internet discussion boards as has been going on here by the Coalition supporters! Like it or not (and you apparently do not like it one iota), the fact is that there are many people out there other that Mathilde who support Mayor Christiansen and his running mates: in fact, many highly-educated, articulate, and prosperous people support the Democratic candidates. A rough estimate of how many will be seen on Election Day; the larger the turnout, the more accurate the depiction. However, it would not surprise me if you are the type for whom the world must be black and white with no gray areas; the type for whom all the pegs must fit neatly into the proper holes and for whom consequently reality must be hammered and molded in their own image so as not to disturb their view of the universe. There are many people out there like that, people who are incapable of accepting the world for what it is and people for who they truly are, and who therefore must create an artificial construct so as not to disturb or disrupt their belief system, their world-view. I hope you are not one of them, and can open your eyes and mind to the possibility that others' opinions are as valuable as your own, though you may disagree with them.
