Thanks Beth for your nice write-ups. I have been reading between lines.

"He also brought about Edgewater Commons and the improvements to River Road."
It's a big achievment to have a Pathmark otherwise we would not have a Pathmark in our entire life if Mayor Bryan would have not done that. Right? Yes, he improved the River Road but traffic accidents have gone up. You would say that it's not Mayor's responsibilites. Right?

"I also see that Mayor Christiansen worked hard for the new Community Center. Someone
here criticized that it took a long time and compared it to building the Great Wall of China, but
even though it took time in the end he kept his word about it. "I was the one who raised the question that how long it took to build the Great Wall of China. Let me ask you if you are doing a project then there is a deadline (it's usual to have deadlines in all projects). Right? One cannot say that even if a deadline is of a year, I might finish the project in 10 years. To put in your word, even though it took time in the end the project was completed in 10 years. That's call inefficiency.

"He also preserved Veterans Field as a park for us local residents."But he couldn't enforce the board outside of the park that park is closed after 10:00 p.m. There were four incidents right across the park in few months. In one of the posting, someone has posted that he has reported to Edgewater Police several times of cars inside the park in wee hours.
Would you do me the favor and present me the statistics of auto thefts in Edgewater in few months? Please do that. You will then tell whether Edgewater is becoming a safer or unsafer place.

" I don't like what I've seen here where people are attacking the Mayor personally, and quite frankly it
may have turned me off to the Coalition candidates. "I also don't like people attacking Coalition candidates personally. There is a saying that people who live in glass houses should not throw stones on others. You got the gist of my point. I was an independent thinker and quite frankly it
may have turned me off to the Democrat candidates when I see them drawing lines between old and new residents.

"The Coalition people seem nice enough, but there's no concrete platform, they talk in vague promises about what they would do if
elected."Unfortunately, what you said in the beginning - "I have reviewed the web sites of both parties," seems untrue to me. Have you seen Our Platform in the Democrat website like in the Coalition web site? There is no platform mentioned on the Democrat side.At lest, Coalition is having a section entitled "Our Platform".
I found Democrats' platform too vague - "To Keep Edgwater on the track". Any political scientist will tell you that this is a too vague statement.
My opinion:
It took some time for me and a group of 39 families which I represent to reach the conclusion that Coalition is the best for the future of Edgewater. Even we change President after two terms to inject new ideas at national level. We need new ideas and this is one of the reasons why it's time to change.
