Election Decision
Posted By: AC Date: Saturday, 3 November 2001, at 4:43 p.m.
Earlier, I posted that I was split between the Independent Coalition and the Democrats for next week's election. I'm a registered and loyal Democrat, so it takes something substantial for me to vote otherwise. Well, that happened today.
I'm sure all of you received that faux newspaper "The Edgewater News" in the mail today. I've seen mudslinging and dirty politics before, but wow! I think what bothers me the most is that they really tried to make it look like our local newspaper. For example:
* It's the same size and number of pages
* It uses the same color green
* Read the editorial as it "pretends" to be unbiased
* It has pretend advertising rates listed
I can go on, but I'll spare you. This is really unbecoming of Edgewater. Merse and Corcoran will never get my vote solely based on that piece of campaign literature. I hope they don't come to my doorstep campaigning tomorrow. Then again, I hope they do, so I can tell them in person how I feel.
I cast my vote for the Independents.
