I agree Poppy. It sounds more like they are trying to negotiate to break the ice and begin getting some continuing subsidies from the Port Authority.
Whether this is the case or not, I think it only fair that if the PA provides subsidies to other companies to help them move commuters into and out of NYC, the ferries should be eligible for a piece of that pie too. In the least it should be able to help curb these skyrocketing ferry prices.
