NY Waterway troubles - impact on Edgewater?

I heard the news this morning that NY Waterway is having some financial difficulty. How would that impact the ferry's arrival into Edgewater? There has been some "talk" about them scaling down their routes to lower Manhattan. With cutbacks being made, will they continue to expand into new areas?

Also, should NY Waterway not operate ferries from Edgewater, who will? Is there a contingency plan in place or does the town start with another RFP process.

Originally I was told by a council member that the ferry could come as early as 9/2004. As we know, that date has come and gone (thankfully too since I don't believe there was enough time for proper planning). So what's the real deal and how does this news affect our town?
