Weren't the bungalows there weekend homes for the wealthy New Yorkers?
...now you have to spend close to a million dollars for a home on the water there...
It is a co-operative community, meaning that you own the house on the land...but not the land...You are a shareholder in the property...and it is difficult to build or change architecture...You need approval from the board...
Still, people, including Geraldo Rivera, flock there, for it's proximity to NYC and views...
It is a beautiful community, filled with archives from the past and modern architecture!
