The colony or camps as they are sometimes called start at the North end of River Road by Palidades Interstate Pkwy & run along the river for a mile or so.People from the movie industry lived there before the whole thing went Hollywood in the early 1900s.
Washington's troops "camped" there as thats where they ran heavy chains from land to several boats to keep the British from coming up the Hudson,cannon naturally were on the clifffs above in Fort Lee.But midgets ????
