I was reminiscing about growing up in Edgewater, being related to so many people, and the people who really made a difference in my life. It's always terrible when you have to go to a wake to realize that a person influenced you in one way or another, and that you never took the time to stop and say thank you to their face. So, to all the moms, dads and friends who's path I had crossed over the years I thank you. Mrs. (Alice) O'Shea & Mrs. Cronin (thanks for coordinating the "Brownie" troop - even though I got kicked out), Mrs. Klein, I'll go to B-thrifty for you anytime even though I had no idea what "Aunt Millies" sauce was, same goes to you , Mrs. Tula Brown - Thank you for not getting mad at me when I lost the money you gave me to go to the store. Mr. Cronin, thanks for telling me I was the best damned paper boy you ever had (I delivered the Hudson Dispatch), Joe & Barbara Lawlor, thanks for just being you and knowing what to say to make a "teenager" understand that not all parents are stupid, Penny Lawlor - you make the best peanut butter & jelly sandwich anyone could ever make. I could continue for hours!!
