I preferred the GWB route. I rarely got stuck in traffic. You have to go downstairs at the GWB Port Authority building to take a subway to the Port Authority in mid town. The subways were usually on time in the morning. The Lincoln tunnel bus leaves you off at the mid town Port Authority. If you check the schedules - you will see that the mid town bus runs more frequently than the GWB bus. If you get stuck at the GWB Port Authority you can always walk home. Most people prefer the Lincoln Tunnel bus.
