In Response To: Re: Is there a connection between Iraq and Al-Qued (TRFKANF)

"If terrorist training camps were discovered in Florida, should the US military attack Florida like it did Iraq?"

I'm not sure if this was intended to be a serious question or asked in jest, but if terrorist training camps were discovered in Florida they'd be destroyed immediately with the help of the Florida national guard, its state police, any and all local Florida law enforcement agencies and every armed citizen in the state in addition to the US military. This was not the case in Iraq.

And drawing this comparison is like comparing an elbow to a bag of razor blades. It makes no sense. In fact, it's too ridiculous to be described as ridiculous. A new word needs to be invented to descibe this stupidity.

And, for the record, Iraq wasn't invaded because of its ties to terrorist organizations, although that was of major concern to Bush and and his team as Saddam's WMD in the hands of such groups could and ultimately would result the deaths of hundreds of thousands of US citizens, and very well still may since we all know his WMD existed and, since Clinton took no action as our commander in chief, are now unable locate them. In addition, former Iraqi intelligence officers have stated that Saddam had already shipped his WMD by truck to Iran, Sirya and Yemen long before our invasion.

Clearly, Iraq was attacked because Bush and company knew they had to take immediate action after 9/11 in order to prevent Saddam's WMD from falling into the hands of terrorist groups even though they suspected it may already be too late because Saddam was in material breach of 17 UN resolutions, many more than 10 years old, which banned him from aquiring, developing and/or making WMD and ordered him to prove his WMD arsenal had been destroyed, which he never did.

And even in lieu of 9/11, Saddam still thumbed his nose at the US and the UN and its weapons inspectors. And even with our forces on his boarders, Saddam chose defiance rather than co-operation. Saddam had to go. Period. Only a fool would think otherwise.

There are dozens of legitimate reasons for Bush to go to war in addition to deposing a ruthless genocidal dictator, preventing his WMD from hitting America cities, liberating 25 million people, trying to tame and bring stability to a dangerous region, but I'll end with a question rather than with a complete detailing of all those reasons:

What attacks from his critics would Bush be facing right now had he done nothing about Saddam, chosing inaction rather action after several dozen litres of VX nerve gas were released in as many major cities and 350,000 Americans died as a result and the economy shutdown and anachy, chaos and tribal warfare on American streets ensued once the VX nerve gas was traced back to Saddam's weapons arsenal?

Think about that answer.

(Of course the democrats would blame Bush for drop in the economy, stock market and the loss of jobs...)

Now pray to God All Might Himself that this dynamic never presents itself, because it surely could. And soon.

God bless G. W. Bush and our sons and daughters in harms way who are fighting and dying at this very moment to protect each and every one of us and our way of life, which I assure you is at risk and up for grabs right now.

God help America now.
