Campaign to rid of the Hess Tanks

Since moving to Edgewater recently my wife and I love this town. Being near the river and the view of New York City, especially at nights, is beautiful. This town reminds us of Sausalito, a lovely little town by San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. Edgewater has the Hudson River and the George Washington Bridge.
The strip malls are a bit tacky, but could get used to them. The new City Place is very nice and would be great if all were like that. It would also be nice if Edgewater had more park like feel by the river (for strolling/walking, rollerblading, a place to just sit and watch the city, etc). I'm sure as the town continues to grow more quality restaurants will follow.
One thing that is a sore for an eye, and not sure if we'll ever get used to it, are the Hess tanks. If the town has any urban plan for the future, we hope it does not include those Hess tanks. Maybe the mayor and the city councils should take a greater role and effort to pressure Hess to remove those tanks. It would be a great location for a sitting/walking park (we think there are enough high rise buildings developed already). With better urban/beautification planning, Edgewater would be even a greater city to live in. Maybe we'll even make the list of best cities to live in.
