Health Insurance

I was thinking about this whole issue of health insurance. Why do we have to pay insurance for regular medical care? Remember when you just went to your family doctor for routine illness and only had insurance in case you needed to go to the hospital? I wonder if it would be feasible for this option again. I am paying quite a bit of money for my insurance and I think if I paid out of pocket for my routine office visits, I would come out ahead. I also think we should put more emphasis on preventive health care and nutrition.
