Old memories

I lived in Edgewater from 1945 to 1953, in an area known as "The Camps". Our address was 13 River Road, although we didn't actually live on River Rd. The road in front of our house was unpaved and there were no mail deliveries. We walked through a wooded area, crossed a brook and the mail boxes were on River Rd. I went to George Washington School, starting kindergarten in 1950. I think the teacher was Miss Smith, 1st. grade was Mrs. Des Jardin and I think 2nd. was Mrs. Hoteling.
I wonder if anyone still lives in Edgewater who remembers me. My maiden name was Linda Marsich, my father was Anthony and mother, Helen, baby brother was Robert. Some of the neighbors I remember were, Tom and Mildred McNiff, their son Thomas, Nancy and Alice Williams ( they had a big Bulldog named Rough House), Bert and Anita, can't remember last name or parents name, Jo Tarabolla, and Judy Fista (Phister?). I remember picking wild raspberries, the Hudson River within walking distance, The Community House where all sorts of festivities took place, a little cave that we children used to crawl into, only to run out screaming because we thought an evil dwarf lived there. The original house on our property was a cabin without an indoor bathroom. There were many scary trips to the outhouse in inky blackness. We bought the one family house in front of this and that's where I have many fond memories. Someone said I wouldn't recognize Edgewater now, it's so "built up", but I would love to hear from an old friend or two, or even just read some old memories of the area.
