What happened to Sulyma's Lookout Restaurant?

I'm a former Undercliff Ave. resident (now living in Hoboken) and was shocked and saddened to see what's become of Sulyma's Lookout on River Rd. Someone is turning the place into a "French Continental" restaurant and bricking over the entire front of the place. Anyone have any details on what happened to the old woman who owned the place (and the adjoining building)? And why are the new owners ruining such a beautiful old building?
