I am glad that you feel the need to answer as to what it was the journalist (Jeff Rosenthal) was looking for when he made comments in regards to Tommy Tansey.
Regardless of what it was he was looking for I found it necessary to reply to him in the manner I preceived what it was he was implying or trying to point out.
I found it necessary to point out that regardless of ones past (in this case Tommy's), we all had skeletons in the closet and that he paid his dues. Also that he has the right to continue to care and be able to voice his feelings.
After all, this is a free country.
