Generally I would agree with you. However, the rumors I am referring to (which I would not repeat without hearing reliable confirmation), relate to Mr. Tansee's term as mayor of our borough. I think that those particular facts might, indeed, be relevant to his opinions on how this town should be run in the future. Beyond that, of course, you are right. His personal life is nobody's business but his own.

As far as my past, lurid would be far too interesting an adjective to apply to it. I do take your point, however, that we all probably have a skeleton or two in our closet. My particular skeletons are, alas, abjectly dull. However, if you dress them in colorful clothing and sit them up on the living room couch they can be amusing for a moment or two.
