and i need to know which phone company to call for a new phone number, and which cable company to call, and which internet provider is the best in the area, and do they offer DSL connections or cable connections, or is it standard dial-up network? any information that anyone can provide to me would be of a huge help...

Hi, Miss Sassy, and welcome! You can get your local phone service through Bell Atlantic: call 1-800-427-9977, unless you're calling from outside of NJ: then, the number to call is 1-800-755-1068.
Cable service is provided by Time Warner Cable. The number to call for new installations is (201) 886-0900.
While we can't recommend one ISP over another, we do believe that Bell Atlantic recently began offering DSL in our area, so you won't necessarily be limited to a dial-up connection.
