More On Open Space

I was also thinking last night about how the waterfront used to
look back in the 50's and 60's. You know, as long as I can
remember, there was never any space open to the citizens of Edgewater
except the ballfield. Everything else was privately owned. Where
the Binghamton is now, it was just vacant land formerly owned
by Alcoa. That didn't stop us from going on there and
crabbing from a makeshift pier that was still standing.
And we didn't have a fancy walkway either! So, I guess my
feeling is if we survived with just the ballfield all these
years, we can continue to survive with just the ballfield.
This is just my opinion and I know that I am in the minority, or so
it seems.
